Employment Counseling

Our Employment Counselors are trained professionals who can help you assess your employment needs and put together a Return To Work Action Plan that is designed especially for you.

We call our counselors Employment Coaches. They work with you one-on-one but also want you to have access to the expertise we offer as a whole.

Our definition of a coach:

Coaching accelerates the client’s progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choice. Coaching provides motivation and energy for a client to see new possibilities. It’s action-oriented, taking clients where they are now and supporting them through the necessary steps to achieve their goals.

The role of an Employment Coach is:

  • to help you get started on your path to employment
  • to identify what services you are eligible to receive
  • to provide you with the necessary referrals to these services
  • to follow along with you until you achieve a successful outcome

Your relationship with your coach may be very brief or ongoing for several months during which time they may refer you to one or more of the many services available in Prince George.

Some of our clients just need some quick help in getting their job search on track. Our Employment Coaches can help you develop a step by step plan to get you back on track.

Some of our clients want to upgrade their skills and maybe go back to school. It can be complicated. Our Employment Coaches will help determine your eligibility for funding and, if eligible, work with you to put a plan together to make it happen.

Some of our clients aren’t sure what kind of job to look for. Our Employment Coaches can help you put a plan together to help you find your way.

At every step, your Employment Coach is with you for support and guidance.
